Prop Pitch Change Due to Over-Rev?

I have a 2014 Sylvan 8522 LZ pontoon with an Evinrude Pontoon Series 90 HP E-TEC. The full throttle range is 5000-5500 RPM. I currently have a Solas New Saturn #2431-140-11 SS propeller with a 14" diameter and an 11" pitch. I noticed this summer that at wide open throttle my tach is reading 5,800 - 600 RPM.

Unfortunately, my brother-in-law grounded the boat more than once and I've noticed damage to the prop, so I am considering a replacement SS prop. However, because we're running over the recommended RPM, I'm thinking I should replace with a 13" pitch to better align with recommended manufacturer RPM.

Does anyone suggest a different course of action?

Welcome to iboats

Since the prop that was "grounded" was a SS, I would be checking to see if the propshaft has not been bent. SS prop impacts tend to bend propshafts and damage gearcase internals far more frequently than AL props do. More pitch will bring the WOT rpm down. You said this summer the WOT rpm was reading 5800 -6000 rpm. Is that number any different from previous years?

check prop shaft by spinning the prop, keep your eye on the little center milled hole in the center of the prop shaft.. if it "wobbles" it's bent... if not, your good,, increase pitch to bring down RPMS

Just to stay with the Solace, same general dimension (will change slightly with pitch change...increase in pitch would be a slight reduction in diameter). Reason is you have one unknown to solve. Change models and brands and you open a new can of worms. 2" is 300-400 rpm and should put you right where you want to be. I'd say you're dead-nuts on.
