If anyone could help me to get into the ball park on what size 3 blade and what pitch to start with wpould be appriciated. Thanks in advance . Dave

That would be a 15" pitch. Prop size is written Diameter X pitch. As you check out props you may find that the
diameter varies slightly but if the prop is listed for your motor the diameter will be correct.
The diameter will follow if you go to the prop store here and select a prop.
The Solas Amita props are reasonable and predictable. You should consider the 15 a starting point.
Final prop size will depend heavily on your typical load and activities.
Do to starting from scratch you may want to find a dealer that will let you try props.
This usually requires a sizable deposit with the understanding you will be buying a prop.
You will need a working tach and a gps for speed to tell if you prop selection works
and what selection may be needed to get it right. The dealer can help you understand results
or lacking dealer help we can guide you.

Running the following numbers through the Mercury prop selector comes up with a 19" pitch. With more weight(load) you might need a 17" pitch.

Dry weight=1700. People and gear=700. Fuel=40 gal. Calculated weight=2628

WOT rpm is 4750-5250 rpm.

A Solas Rubex aluminum prop would be a great prop for this boat. The 19 pitch should yield about 40 mph with an 8% slip.

the boat dry weight is 1250, and it says 7 people or 1024 lbs rpm 5250 i think

thanks for all the help
