I am new to boating and just looking to get a little information. Right now i am running a practically brand new 1991 Honda 45 4-stroke with its stock 3 blade prop (dont know the pitch). Now my question is what is the differences between the pitch of the blades? Benefits or drawbacks? And how with the motor i have could i achieve a little bit more top end speed while still keeping a reasonable budget in mind? I just dont know the benefits of more blades or harsher pitch? Thanks any advise would be awesome like i said im a new boater and avide bass fisher.

You need to read the stckys at the top of the prop forum. get us the info required.
Prop size is given in inches. _ _ x _ _ diameter X pitch.
Pitch is the key number. Given in inches i.e.: 12" will move 12" forward in one revolution
if turning in a solid a small % less in a liquid.
