Hello again forum friends.
What diameter/pitch combination should I order/use when all we do is cruise around at low to medium speeds on small lakes? We also pull 1 skiier or kneeboard. Our boat is a 1983 Mercruiser Baretta 140hp inboard/sterndrive. I started looking around on this site to order a prop and got a bunch of choices.

Re: prop pitch

DEPENDS ON LENGTH AND WEIGHT OF BOAT ENGINE RPM ECT. NOT AN EASY CHOICE U SHOULD CHECK WITH MANUFATURER FOR RECOMENDED USE.

Re: prop pitch

I have the same engine hp on a 17-footer and is using 15X17 3 blade . It's works fine for me. You can do some research on this website on how to pick the best prop. Like you said all you do is cruise around so if you not satisfy with the prop you having (maybe it's slow to be on plane? ), you should try to lower the pitch on your prop. Good luck.Tim.

You'll Need to Know,
The Pitch you have Now.......
Your WOT,RPMs Now.....

BTW,
Forget about the Diameter..............
You have Absolutely No Choice in the matter.......

Diameter is determined by the Blade Design,+ Size.....
The People designing the prop figure it out For you............
