I have a 2000 crestliner 17.5 mod v hull with a 90 HP evenrude 2 stroke fitch. I was not reaching my max rpms( was told 6500) so I raised the motor up one position. Now it's at the second hole from the top and my rpms reach 6500 with the motor trimmed up a little. Before I raised the motor I was having problems with the boat caveating on rough water or when I trimmed the motor up to much. I know they all will do this I just think it has more to do with the hull and the position the motor was originally in. The prop on my motor is alu. 14x17 and I have a black stainless 13 7/8x17 that I have not tried yet. Any ideas if this will help me with the all around performance of my boat or should I try something else. I'm looking for more speed.
