I just boat a 1990 16' searay with a 1990 115 mercury. It came with a 21 pitch prop which pushes the boat 38-40 mph at 4500 rpms. If I drop down to a 19 pitch will I be able to pull tubes, skiers, and wake boarders? Looking for all around good pitch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

welcome aboard

I would almost recommend dropping down to a 17 pitch for a good all-around prop

The elevation of where I was is 3000 ft and I won't be running at that lake all the time.. Would that make a difference?

Your full throttle rpm range being 4750-5250, dropping two inches of pitch(19) should gain 300-400 rpm, putting you nearer to the top of your rpm range, and improving pulling ability.

If you want to get real serious, a 4 blade 17/18 pitch would provide better water sports performance while costing a little top speed. With that prop, you would need to watch the rpm when lightly load(not pulling) to avoid exceeding the max rpm.

I recommend a minimum(driver+observer) of folks in the boat when doing any serious water sports.

While Scott is right a 17 will give you lots of jump but will cost some top end.If we're talking all around maybe give up some jump for more speed with a 19.
I guess you have one to try. Also you might think about a 19" spitfire 4 blade The 19 Spitfire will get you some rpm and 4 blade grip and hole shot.
Supposedly the Spitfire will deliver 3 blade rpm so no sacrifice of speed.
