Hi all

First things first I love this site keep up the good work,

I have a prop question Im sure someone here can help me with
I have a mercury 1996 115hp 2+2 motor and I have recently bought a 2nd hand prop

I arrived today and it is a laser 2 with the markings
QUICKSILVER 48 16990 A40 20P

the chap I bought it from stated that it would fit 75 - 125 hp motors but looking at it it looks huge !!

on the back of the hub it has the markings 48-16990-20

looked at a few websites and people mentioned that this might be a fixed hub not flo-torque is this an issue

also I seem to remember my prop has a rebate on it where the prop meets the gear casing and this one does not is this an issue

my boat is stored down by the cost so cant go and take a quick look to see if it fits can any one help me and let me know if it will work with my motor

sorry if any of this seems stupid but I have not had much experience with props before

many thanks

Gee, look up props on the Quicksilver prop selector site and see if it fits your motor. That prop may or may not have a modular hub. If it fits your motor, it will not make a difference what kind of prop hub it has. That prop looks to have a 20" pitch. Hopefully that is what you wanted..

Thanks for the comments,
All the prop guides I go on only let me select an engine year back to 2000 and mines a 1996 so I can get the answer I need !
