Prop/ prop shaft doesnt spin

I took out my lower unit and looked at everything to make sure nothing was damaged and i reinstalled it back on my boat but now the prop shaft wont spin, i put everything back in correctly as far as i know.

We'll need the model number for reference. But it sounds like the shifter isn't connected.

Model number is j130plsss and i connected shift rod

How far did you tear down the lower unit ??

I took everything out and everything went back in

Did it run properly BEFORE you took it apart ?----------New to you motor ?--------Replacement lower unit ?---------Splines inside the crankshaft rusted away?-----------Best post the whole story on this.

The boat sat for a while and when i first started it up and put it into gear the prop wasnt spinning and its not the hub because the shaft wasnt either so i took it apart to make sure i didnt damage anything then i put it back together. Crankshaft isnt rusted away cuz it still grabs on and spins the driveshaft but the prop shaft wont

How can you tell the driveshaft is spinning? Does the motor pump water? It's not clear in post 9 whether it worked before you first took it apart.

I'd try taking the shift cable off and see if you can get it to engage by moving the shift lever by hand.
