I have a 2005 Yamaha 115 4st on a 2005 Crestliner 17' Sportfish.Is there any advantage in going to a SS prop? If so,will a 131/4x15 work?
Thanks

Really need your present max rpm and speed and prop size ,material.Motor recommended max rpm.
To answer your question yes a stainless can and usually does improve
performance.

Re: Prop Question 2005 Yamaha 115 4st

I have a 04 F115 on a 19' cabin boat weighing around 1600lbs. It came stock with a 13x19" aluminum prop, which gave me close to the recommended 6000rpm, around 39mph. Now running a 13.25x19" Turbo Quest. Now got 5900 and the same top speed, but gives better handling characteristics and less vibrations in the boat.

For a 17' boat, 15" sounds way low, depending on weight I'd think a 19" or 20" would do the trick. But as Steelespike says, needs to know your current prop size, rpms and speed to give an accurate answer.
