Prop Question?

I have two props that I alternate occasionally, just for the heck of it. Both the props are the same diameter and pitch. One has cupped blades, and the other on has straight blades. The straight blade prop has good pickup and planes the boat fairly easily, but has a real bad steering pull. The cupped prop causes the boat to struggle to get on plane, but the steering has little or no pull, and is alot easier.Does this sound normal? (motor is an '87' 125 hp force)<br /> Thanks

Re: Prop Question?

Cupped prop acts like a prop 1" to 2" greater in pitch and you should see this in WOT RPM (200 to 300 Lower). Not sure about the pulling ... are both props in good (no dings, pieces missing, etc.) condition?
