Prop Question

Hi guys, I got a couple questions, maybe someone can help. My boat has a SS prop (4.3 Alpha 1). I recently removed the prop and was wondering what the torque is for installing? (the nut was not very tight to begin with).<br />Also, the prop is 'slightly' bent on the 3 blades, very slight, I was wondering can that be filed down, or does it need be?

The prop nut doesn't have to be "tight", just snug and keyed.<br />The more important issue is the "bent" blades.<br />The blades should be true, and any mis-shapped blades need to be fixed. A bend as small as 1/16" can cause undue stress to the prop-shaft and lower unit gears. If you have any question, I would highly recommend you have a dealer or highly experienced boater take a look at the prop and determine if it needs repair.
