I used the prop finder for my 1974 mercruiser 165 hp inline 6 here and decided on replaceing the aluminum 15x17 prop with the same prop I had (it worked fine for my needs. My question is how are these props shipped the propfinder added a hub kit but I am not sure if I need it my old prop had a brass sleve that went over the 15 tooth spline and fit in the old prop with 4 spline rubber piece mounted in the prop housing. The brass sleve is fine as is the prop nut and lock washer I am very new to the boating world and chewed up my old prop
the prop I think I need is here

http://www.iboats.com/mall/propfind...id=475&**********=883258807&*******=695530215

also this prop has a tru flow hub and is a vortex type it shows a xtra rubber part I dont have can i use a similar prop that hust needs the brass sleve ?
thanks in advance

Re: Prop question

The forums aren't manned by the iboats sales staff. You should e-mail them directly. We're mostly boaters scattered around the globe that like to converse here with other boaters scattered around the globe.

It sounds like you have a rubber-hubbed propeller. The new ones have a replacable insert now. That way if it fails, you can replace it yourself. Rubber hubs need special equipment and you have to send them to a prop shop. It looks like that prop you're looking at has everything you need, but you'll be reusing the lock tab and nut you already have.
