Re: prop question

The actual prop size is probably under the prop nut. Usually written _ _ X _ _ diameter X pitch. Pitch is the key number.
If you look up props for your motor the diameter will be correct.
It will help some if you tell us about your boat and motor?

Re: prop question

Have you checked under the prop nut for the prop size?Prop selection is much more than just the hp and boat brand,
Selecting a prop is like picking a single gear in a car to do everything.Your boat has some serious age and may not respond to typical prop sizes.Your boat might be 16 ft or 30 feet this would make a huge difference in prop selection.
We need details. Please read the sticks at the top of the prop forum.
Among other things ,if we are going to have to guess what prop you need we need the size, type, material of your boat.
your typical load and activities. At least a guess of the boats dry weight and for you to see if the prop size is under the prop nut.
I'll assume you Merc 140 4 cylinder is a Mercruiser.? as a brief check didn't list any 4 cylinder 140 outboards.

Re: prop question

Those numbers indicate a 15-1/2 X 19 pitch. I suspect that it's an older prop; therefore you may not be able to find that exact size these days.

Recommend you visit the iboats prop section; enter your info and see what's available for your motor. You'll likely find one that's really close and workable.

For example Merc makes a 15-1/2 X 18 that would work.

Re: prop question

There are all sorts of props in the prop section for the Mercruiser 140. There listed the same as a 120.
