I'm hoping this motor will do the job of replacing a 1960 18 hp Evinrude. I have a 14ft V-bottom. What prop would be best suited for this 15 hp Yamaha? It's a 1997 model. Available are 9 1/4 or 9 3/4 diameter props. The pitch on the broken prop is 9. I have found the ones on here, on sale, which are three ears and a single-fin design. I can also get a double-fin design. Will either of these props be better at getting on plane while having low-end pull, with duck hunting gear in tow? I thought about getting a pitch of 10 1/5, but not sure if the 9 3/4 diameter will fit the motor. Thanks for advice, in advance. ~Mike

Getting the motor this week. I'll try the local shop for a prop. I'll post results of its performance.

you will need to verify the prop with a tach. its the only way to insure you have the correct one for your application.<br /> good luck and keep posting
