When I bought this houseboat with two AQ40D engines the person i got it from said something about reversing propes i did not know what he was saying as i was a new first boat person what was he talking about a cover on the back at the props says 280 need help with this<br /><br /><br /> thanks william

I just did this with my 270 outdrive. Take the plate off the outdrive that says 280 on it. This covers the shift cables. There is a lever under that cover that has a shift rod attached with a cotter pin on each end. It is easy to see how you can move this rod from one side to the other to switch the drive from right hand drive to left hand drive or vice versa.
