I am attempting to change lower unit seals in 1978 Evinrude 25 hp. I have finally got all but one seal out. This seal seems to be between a bushing and the gearcase head assembly in the lower unit. How should I go about changing this seal? How should I get it out? Should I just try and sneak the seal out and try and fit the new one where the old seal was without removing the bushing, or do I need to remove the bushing, replace the seal, and press the bushing back on top of the o seal? If I need to remove the bushing, how should I go about doing that?
