Looking for a prop to fit my model 40, 4hp Merc. Serial # 9148150. The numbers I was given for the prop are: 48-70453a1 or 48-86903a1.<br /> Thanks, chet

try your mercury dealer if he don't have one he can order it.

I have already talked directly to Mercury Marine, they told me the prop was no longer available through them.

Click on props at top of page. It doesn't have to be made by merc.

ChetJS - try over at The Marine Doctor's website. Just because it's NLA doesn't mean you can't still get it. Mercury dealers have access to a NLA parts finder that searches the inventories of other merc dealers, but some of them don't know about it.<br /><br />My brother's got the same engine pushing around his boat. But he needs the prop I think. <br /><br />The first number you give is for the old part. The second number superceeds it (plastic prop).<br /><br />PS - it doesn't look like Iboats has a prop to replace it...<br /><br />EDIT: If you haven't done so already, try to locate and check your local outboard graveyards for the prop. You have a very good chance of finding one there.
