looking for some basic help in prop selection. i have a 14'boat with a merc 50 hp ob. i have run two props that both seem to work good. one was a 14" and the other was 13" pitch. the boat is mainly used for towing a tub but i would like to try to water ski with it. any suggestions on what would work. are there general rules for increasing/decreasing pitch or diameter? what are the effects of the increase/decreae?

any general help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

Re: prop selection basics

If you increase the pitch you decrease your RPM's. There are quite a few very knowledgable people on this site but you will need to post additional information. RPM's at wide open throttle(WOT), max speed, HP and make of motor.
