Prop Selection for SeaFox

Picked up a 2000 23' Seafox Walkaround with 2000 Johnson 200hp Ocean Pro.

Need a prop for this boat. Seafox is 23'; 8'6" beam weighs approx. 3100 lb dry weight with a max wet weight of 4000 lb, can carry up to 8 adults & gear (2000lbs max) planned use for 2-4 adults.

Engine is a 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro outboard 200hp 2-cycle. Target RPM is 5000.

Looking for original prop. specs. If I had the prop I would know pitch & diameter; but, I don't. Anyone happen to know what prop was put on this boat/eng. from the factory or on a similar walkaround boat??

If you visit the Mercury prop selector, it has data for motors other than Mercury.

In your case, it recommends a 15 X 17 or 15.5 X 18 in either aluminum or their Mirage Plus SS props. It will even tell you what hub kit you'll need.

Your numbers through it comes up with: a 17 pitch, 5500 rpm @ 43.6 mph; which equals a 10% slip with your gear ratio.

A less expensive alternative(just as good) would be the Solas Amita 15.5 X 17 aluminum prop or the same size in SS.
