Hello,

I just bought a new boat 16 footer with 75 HP Optimax. I'm looking to change the prop to stainless and not sure what I need to know before buying a new prop. Also how hard or easy to change a prop? The dealer charge an arm and half a leg for a new stainless steel prop.

Thanks

What's your reasoning for going to a stainless prop?

Re: Prop selection

As far as getting charged an arm and a leg, why not go with a Stiletto or Turbo? I know if you're looking at Merc...FROM a dealer..you're going to be working to next Christmas to pay it off. Spend 100-200 less on the above mentioned props and save the rest for gas. Merc has nothing that is any better.
Follow advice from the guys above and get us a wide open throttle RPM with a Known prop-tell us what that prop is-and we can start there.
