yamaha L200, trying to remove the prop shaft. got out the bearing carrier and the shift rod but prop shaft won't come out. It seems like the FWD gear hits the pinoin nut and won't let the prop shaft come out. The book doesn't give much help on what to do here. In the book i looks like they use some king of puller though but i don't really want to push the gears together like that. any ideas?

Re: prop shaft removal

I need more information, as the L200 case was made in both a one piece shaft and a two piece shaft over the years.

the shaft is a one piece, it has a "ring" that is connected to it right behind one of the gears
