i dont know how many splines is on my prop shaft i dont want to take it off casue the clip is wore out and i havnt got a new one yet but i was wonder how many spllines ae on a 1996 force 70 prop shaft

First off, welcome to iboats.

Sorry to say, but you don't have a 1996 70 hp.
The 70 hp was made from 1991 thru 1995.
From 1996 thru 1999, they made a 75 hp.

Your 70 hp has 13 splines on the prop shaft.

It is also about the most common prop on the market, as it is the same as 40-50-60 hp Mercury's, some Mariners, Yamahas, and Honda's, and 1995-1999 Force 40-50 hp motors.
So there are lots of manufacturers and sizes available.
