I have a 1964 motor without a prop. Model # CD-21A

Can anyone tell me what size prop this takes....The guy at the local marine is thinking 8x7. If I have to I'll take the motor down there to try it, but I am hoping I can get an answer here.

Thanks

8x7-1/4 was probably original. Main thing you have to look out for is the shear pin location. I think '64 was the year of change. Older ones had the pin in the nose end of the prop, then they were changed to put the shear pin close to the gearcase. They are not interchangeable.

Oddly enough, my 1992 6hp has the front drive pin. Somewhere, they went back to that. I'm not sure, though, if the prop shaft length and diameter are the same as on the earlier 5.5 hp.
