prop size/pitch

we have a 1996 johnson 150 on a 22 ft hydra-sport deep-v. the prop is alum 15X17. We can only get about 4800 rpm with this setup. we want to go to a ss prop and get the rpm's up to about 5500. what size prop should we be looking for? thanks for any help.

You can also gain RPM by raising the motor (increase the X dimension). I would think a 17 on that boat would be close. Try raising the motor a couple of holes and lets see what happens before you spend bucks on a new prop.<br /><br />Good luck!
