I have a 1989 Winner Intrigue 1700 with the alpha one mercruiser 3.0L 130hp engine. I just recently bought this boat and the propeller that it came with is pretty beat up. I have looked online for what the recommended prop size is so i can replace it but haven't found much. I found a receipt in the papers that the boat came with for a 14x19, but i don't want to risk buying a new ss prop based on a receipt that could end up being the wrong size anyway. Can anyone point me in the right direction at finding the specs for the manufacturers recommended prop size or if anyone has this boat recommend what they are using?

it should be marked on the prop - usually under the nut and washer - sometimes on the back of the prop or sides. You should try the prop you have and see where it ends up RPM wise - you want something that will put you about 4400-4600 rpm. Sometimes going to SS is a crap shoot b/c it will perform differently rpm wise - it might lower rpm below the recommend 4200-4600 range.

agreed.. with SkiDad.. buy an aluminum 19p and see what numbers your getting, (WOT rpms) if your hole shot is ok and your between 4400-4800. running the beat up prop you will get "beat up performance".. if you cant get out of the hole.. ie- on plane fairly quick and you feel like your pulling a safe out of the lake... you might need to drop down in pitch

In this case, you may be better off working with a prop shop. Last thing you want is to start with a 19P, then find you have to step up or down, and now you have a prop that may or may not be valuable for you. Shops would have test props that they would let you use, with the understanding that you would purchase the prop when you get dialed in. It may cost a bit more than ordering one online from iBoats (support our host - I just got an e-mail from them indicating that props were 30% off), but its better strategy if you are going in blind.

Find your ideal prop in five steps or less (so they claim)...

I would agree with the others. If the prop that was on it is dinged up, it probably means it was getting some use on the water and was working alright (not a guarantee, but likely). On the side of the prop, between blades there should be a part number stamped. This will let you order the same prop. Also, like SkiDad said, on the end of prop under nut, it will give you the specs of prop, i.e 14X19. If you can find a shop willing to let you try props, great, but I know around my neck of the woods they won't do that.
