Prop Size????

I have 1996 Trophy2002 with 120 Force. What is the standered prop size Dia and Pitch for this boat. I use it for fishing. Looking for something to save fuel, do' nt care much for speed. Thanks

Tommy, the correct prop is one that will allow the motor to rev up to its suggested RPM at wide open throttle. I would try to arrange to borrow some props for trial runs, and then buy the one that meets that criteria. My guess is that you will need a 17 or 19 inch pitch prop for that boat/motor combo. I would start with these and adjust up or down. Remember, each 1 inch change in pitch will cause about a 200RPM change. So it your motor turns 4800 RPM with a 19 inch pitch prop, a 17 inch pitch prop will turn about 5200RPM.

Tommy, report back on RPM for the 17 if you would....<br />Don't want to bust any bubbles, but I think a 15" will be a better choice, we'll see.
