I have a 19' fiberglass boat with a '97 Force 90, recently bought and used. Boat didn't seem to go as fast as with my previous 63 merc1000, but at least it moves. After a couple of uses and 1 large log sitting in the banks of the lake..... prop is torn up, large dent on one part and 1/4" strip around the outside of another gone, new one? Also seems like i dont see it "peeing" at all, but it runs fine? Thought I remember seeing it "pee" the first few times. Any recommended prop pitches or brands? Boat has no tach, should it?

Thanks-duncan

Re: prop sizing

Two things going on here.
1. You sould either repair old prop or get a new one thats a given.
Props need to be in balance or you get things messing up vibration being good at bending and loosening.
2. Replace the water pump.
You should be getting a stream I believe with that motor.

Tach probably did not but you should add 1 to be sure you running the engine in the correct RPM range. To slow and your lugging it and to fast your gonna kill it.
