I took the nut and kep ring washer off and the prop will not come off. I wanted to ask how I should go about taking it off before I start at it again and screw something up. Thanks in advance.

Re: Prop stuck on

Take a rubber mallet and give it a few good whacks on the hub of the prop.

I gave that a try and no luck. I think I am up against something here. This thing will not budge at all.

Tip the drive up and spray the splines with a bunch of PB blaster then let it soak.

If you don't care about the prop you could bash the heck out of it from behind.

Re: Prop stuck on

Hit harder and use a wood block with a bigger hammer....... no grease on the shaft will act like glue!!

Re: Prop stuck on

Ok I'll give it a try. I just didn't know if I'd be screwing up the shaft or anything else inside the lower unit by wacking on the propeller. Sure I'll be back in a little while. Thanks.

Re: Prop stuck on

Use two prybars to put a little pressure on the prop. With the nut backed off so it is flush with the end of the shaft, whack the shaft end with a hammer with a block of hardwood to protect the shaft.A good sharp hit with the hammer should dislodge the prop. You need two people to do this properly.
