Prop Suggestion

I would like a suggestion on a prop for cruising/top speed. I have a 1995 19’ Century Arabian, 223hp(4.3LX 4 barrel), 1.64 gear ratio, and supposedly it weighs 1700lbs. This boat is totally new to me and I don't even have a motor in it yet - so no tach/perf data. The previous owner used the dealer issued 19" aluminum. He ran about 42-45 and supposedly hit WOT at 3/4 throttle. Sounds like a good skiing prop. However, I want a second prop for top end/cruising. Any suggestions on prop type and pitch?

Re: Prop Suggestion

Hard to pin a prop down with no figures to go by...I would also be amazed to see it come in at 1700lbs. That sounds a bit light, but may be close without an engine.<br />The owner before you...did it hit Max WOT at 3/4, or just somewhere in the range????

Seemed a little lite to me too. That weigh is probably just the boat without outdrive and engine. His 3/4 throttle was probably just a guesstimate. I'm pretty sure it wasn't exactly 3/4 throttle.

Re: Prop Suggestion

Best thing will be when you get it back together, use the prop you have and get some base-line numbers....that'll tell us which way to go, and what style of prop you may need.
