prop swap

[55'Fleetwin7.5]

I have a 1955 7.5 fleetwin with a three blade prop. I also have a 1959 5.5 fisherman with a two blade prop... Can the three blade be swapped with the two balde, to give a bit of boost to the 5.5? Thanks.

Interesting topic, I also have a 59 5.5hp Johson. I don't think it would work or really be a great idea though. The thought has crossed my mind also lol. Lets see what these guys say.

My first thought is if it would work better then they would have done it back then. But it also still doesn't hurt to try it! I also have a '59 J5.5hp. In pieces in a box No prop is gonna help it!

The 7.5 Fleetwin came with a two-blade prop, so the 3 is an aftermarket of undetermined diameter and pitch. All I can say is try it and see. But it will probably make your 5.5 lug along at less than correct RPM.
