Hello, I just finshed replacing the bellows and gimbal bearing in my Volvo SX Cobra drive. Everything seamed to go well but, this is my fist Volvo so I was supprised to find that when I shifted the linkage in gear (still disconnected at the bottom end) to rotate the shaft to align the splines; once the splines were ingauged and the drive in place it didn't lock up the prop. I can apply a strong hand force and rotate the prop (without turning the engine) Is this normal, it is the same fwd or reverse. The drive was working fine when I pulled it off although; I didn't try turning the prop by hand.

Please tell me this is ok, thank you,
Cameron

The prop should catch within a half turn if the shift mechanism is in gear, but it will only catch one direction, the wrong direction and it will just turn free.
