I recently purchased a 1986 Cobia Monte Carlo. It has an OMC Stringer 400. When I purchased the boat, it came with 3 props. A composite prop (installed), a beat up aluminum, and a nice Stiletto stainless. The first time I took the boat out and throttled it up, the hub broke free of the prop on the composite, I changed to the stainless prop on the water and finished the day. When I got home, I noticed that even though the prop nut was tight, the stainless prop wobbles a little on the shaft. I took that off and put the aluminum one on and no wobble. I'm wondering if the stiletto prop requires a special thrust washer. Has anyone had experience with a problem like this? Thanks in advance for your help.
