prop wont turn

I have or am about to have a 89 bayliner 2.3 omc. ....guy I'm purchasin from said he was out on the water for about a hour and the prop stopped turning...the problem is still there..any ideas of wat this could b?another question is can i swap outdrives. From the omc to a merccruizer on the omc engine? Or do I have to swap both engine and outdrive to b matchin?

i believe there is a merc/omc housing kit or whatever costing $$$$$. is it prop only? like the prop went bad. or is the whole outdrive froze up?

a new or refurbishd from factory alpha outdrive will cost you about 2k so you might want to see if you can get a used one before you start buying stuff also you'd need a new trim pump $300 again cheaper if you can get it used
