This boat I acquired (and have not used yet) has a prop with a few dings in it. Are thsoe going to be a problem? Should I replace it?

The motor is a 45hp Evinrude -- outboard.

Any advice would be great!

Thanks.

Re: Prop

Those dings will cause vibration.

I'm guessing it is aluminum, seeing as its on a 45hp.

If you are really strapped for $$$ and have to use it, I suggest you take a hammer and dolly and straighten the wavey edges, file smooth the rough edges where bits are missing and all around dress it up. It really does help.

If you use it as is, then put on a nice clean new one, you will think your motor runs smoother, makes less noise, and makes more power.

You can get a new aluminum for about $75 for the old style Hustler hub system prop. Check out the prop finder in the upper left of the screen.

Been there done that.
