I have a 1990 Sylvan profish 16 foot with 1989 70 horse Johnson. I have a 13 3/4x15 aluminum prop. Is this the correct prop for this boat and motor? I don't have a tach or mph gauge and I am not worried about the top speed I just want it to ride and get on plan nice. Now it bounces at full speed with the motor trimmed up so i run with it down. The motor is mounted in the top hole so it is down all the way.
Thanks
Chad

Re: Prop

Hi, Chad.

Borrow or rent a minitach and "prop her out" to find the ideal prop. I would expect that a 17" would work better than the 15", but that is just a guess.

Porpoising at full out trim is normal. Trim it in just enough to stop the porpoising.

Good luck. :)
