I have a 2007 Sea Ray 185 Sport with 4.3 TKS and factory mounted aluminum 14x23 prop. I have an opportunity to purchase a Mercruiser Mirage (48-13700-19) SS 15x 19 prop, which I would likely use as a spare (or primary prop if appropriate). Can anyone give me any information regarding if I can switch to the 15" dia. and, if so, how would the 19" pitch play out with the increased diameter? Thanks!

I would say you would be able to turn the 15" prop just fine. Need to know what your wot rpm is now so we can decide if the 19p is too big a drop.

I believe I am turning around 4800-5000 rpm @ WOT w/the 14/23.

If you are turning that high with the 23p you are about at optimum prop. Going to 19p would raise about 400 rpm over what you are now. I have a 1993 4.3 with 4 barrel. Not sure how much difference the motors are but mine would only spin a mirage 21p to about 4200 rpm.

The Mirage is not designed for your application.

Upon further inspection of the prop, I found (stamped into the stainless) the expanded number: Quicksilver 48 13700 A40 19P. Also, the numbers 5579 were also stamped above the part number. Does this also indicate a prop that is incorrect for my application? If so, can you tell me why? Thanks.
