propeller pitch

I need an educated guess as to what pitch prolpeller I need to buy....I have a 17' fish n ski fiberglass boat with a 2002 Evinrude 150 carberated motor...it's a new boat to me and it came w/o a prop...I put a 14" x 21 prop on it and it really bogs down until i'm on plane...any help would be appreciated..thx

I am by far no prop expert,but i know what the experts will tell you,,you need a tach first.My buddy has a 20 foot ranger with a 225 Mariner,and his hole shot flat out sucks,but once he gets that mother up on top,he is pushing 80 mph,,,pretty awesome.

What are your Wide Open Throttle RPM's with the 21"? You should be around 5800-6000... Might try some smart tabs to get you out of the hole faster..
