Propeller problem?

On my Yamaha 28 hp (maybee buildt for Mariner): It sounds that the propeller is not getting the full power when I give full trothle. It feels like it is "slipping". Is it some kind of a clutch system included in the propeller? My boat is sailing on a very weedy Norwegian lake, so a possibility can be that the strain to the propeller has weakened the "clutch". Any other ideas?

Paint two aligned points on the metal parts of the prop, inside and outside the rubber hub. Run the boat for some time and check if the points are still aligned. If not, the hub had spun and you should have it fixed by the shop.
