I have a 97 larson 226 lxi with a 5.7 volvo penta and a cobra drive. I noticed that the prop was bent (from previous owner) and I want to get a new one. I left it at the lake without thinking about getting any numbers off of it. I'm waiting for a friend that is there to call me and give me a number off of it but it's been two days and I haven't heard from him. I use the boat for towing skiers, kneeboard and tubes. What would you recommend for a prop? Can you tell me which one I need based on the info provided? Thanks....

And while I'm at it, would you recommend going to a 4 blade? It's a 226 lxi larson with a 5.7l that we use just for towing and sking...

Hell yeah, i would go 4 blade! Even if it's an aluminum one... you will love it. BUT, how did your old prop perform? I would look at a 19p or 20p 4 blade aluminum... or if you want to pop for the stainless that's cool too.

Re: Propeller Question

You'll need to know what RPM your getting at WOT with your current prop BEFORE you can make any prop size/pitch decisions.

It's possible that the PO has been running the wrong prop for the boat, so don't use that as a guide.

Re: Propeller Question

Thanks for the info and support! How would I go about finding the WOT. The boat has a lot of power. I'm 240 and had never been behind a boat that pulled me up so easy. I've only had this boat for about a month. The guy I got it from had told me that his son had bent the prop and he used a pair of pliers and hammer to straighten it so I don't think it is right and hasn't been right. So how would you proceed to find the WOT. I'm not into the speed, I'm into the pulling skiers kneeboarders and tubes. Thanks!!!!
