Hello all, I'm in need of help finding a propeller that will slow down my 77 Marquis with a Mercruiser 888 to trolling speeds. So far, I'm thinking this is the best idea:

Solas RUBEX 3 Aluminum Boat Propeller #9511-155-11 for Mercruiser Sterndrive Models 165, 228, 470, 485, 888, 898 110 - 190 HP - iboats

About how fast would I go idling with this? Me and my dad mostly trout fish so I'm looking for a 1mph at idle. I've been reading and I know the dangerous thing with doing this is over revving the engine trying to get on a plane with these small props but in this case that will not happen since my dad is disabled and I wouldn't do that with him in the boat.

Ayuh,... You'd be better off usin' the prop ya got, 'n addin' drift socks, or over-sized trim tabs, or a trollin' brake,...

I use over-sized trim tabs, 'n drift socks to get Sub-1 mph with my barge...

I agree ^ A very brief calculator check indicated about 2.5 mph at 700 rpm and 30% slip.
