Propeller to fin clearance

1974 Merc 225s, pre-alpha drive:

Is there a minimum clearance recommended between the propeller blades and the fin/skeg? Mine just barely misses it. It is OK to shave off a bit of the fin to get more clearance?

If your refering to the anode just below the antivent plate you can notch it
a little. If it is indeed the skeg I would suspect it is the wrong prop or perhaps needs a thrust washer.

Ayuh,...

I usually shoot for 1/4"....

If you've got Power Steering,...
You can take it right Off,+ use the flat plate anode...

I did mean the anode. Thanks for the responses. I just checked the prop and it looks like it was actually hitting it just a little. Although it just clears when I turn it by hand. Maybe in reverse it pulled back? I did not hear it make contact.
