I own a 1991 Evinrude 40 HP outboard that is equipped with a valve attachment to be used for "fogging the engine for winter storage. However I cannot find the proper procedure to use the fitting,

is it done with the engine off?on,
do you fog until the motor stalls???

Any help will be appreciated

Re: Proper fogging procedure with engine valve attachment

RA....start the engine as you normally do and let it warm up to operating temp. Connect the fogger can to the maint. valve. Keep the red lever in the normal run position. I believe the Bomby fog can says give the engine an initial 2 sec shot for each cylinder and then just start injecting the fog as you can. You probably will have to idle up a little to keep the engine running during the injection. Get at least a half can in there and let the engine die. Shes' gonna smoke a bit but that's normal.

Easy. :D
