Proper Gapping procedure???

What is the proper way to gap a spark plug and what tools are required for it?<br />Just want to make sure things are done right! ;)

Lube...I just bought a combination tool. It has feeler guages and also wire guages. I imagine the feeler guages are for points etc......and it also has the wire loops and a tool to bend the leg of the plug. I'll use the wire and pass it through the gap should it be snug or just brush the guage?

Be very carefull that you do not chip the porcelin on the plug. Some of the cheaper guages have too wide of a tool for bending the tip. Snug, as long as you can pass it through. Its the measurement in the middle of the electrode to the prog you ar worried about. If it is hard to pull the gauge out but the measurement is good at the critical area, then its ok if you have to pull the guage out. Thats why I like the wire guage.
