Proper Nomenclature of Various Retaining Rings

Having tinkered with things mechanical over the better part of 85 years the were some on here I had no idea what they were really called. There is a misprint on the lower right hand side . It should read "constant section ring."

I was surprised to see the E clip definetion....in my days they were referred to as " Jesus Christ" clips, because when removing or installing them they flew off into areas unkown....and the typical " Jesus Christ where did that clip go !

We called them bejesus clips. Where the bejesus did that go!

Always wear EYE PROTECTION when removing or installing them. Had close calls with them in close spaces.
