I just bought a new prop 14 1/4 x 23 for my 4.3 cobra sx. This same prop has been on this boat by the previous owner. He gave me 2 broken ones. When I slide it on it does not hit the thrust washer, it hits the housing. Do I need some kind of spacer to go with this prop? All of my research says its the right one penta 3850303 I bought a michigan 161005 its a perfect match. At present the boat has a 14 1/4 x 21 michigan 991209 that has a different inner hub. I want to go with the 23 because my max rpm is 4800 and at WOT with the 21 I hit 5200. Thanks so much for any help, Duane

I can't be too much help with your Volvo setup but I can tell you sometimes a thrust washer/spacer may stick to the old prop you remove.
You probably do need a higher pitch but we can tell better about your rpm if we have the rpm and your speed by gps.
Some cells have a gps app.
Also need the year of the outfit.

Thanks I tried to edit but couldnt:mad:
Its a 1997 regal 2100 LSR WOT was at 40 mph
I have the thrust washer from the other prop it does not fit in the new one I am working on finding the right one for the new prop, but they sure dont make it easy. I am pretty sure that will solve the problem.
