Proper RPM for a Volvo Penta 501(Gm 305)

I switched from a duo prop setup to a single. Got my reasons. Anyways, I am not sure what the rpm range is for this setup of mine.
1990 Larson Hamton Sport cruiser
22'
8.5' beam
Volvo penta 305gm V8 with a frankenstein outdrive(DP-A upper/intermediate 280 lower).

depending of what exactly 305gm engine you have you are looking either for 4200-4600 or 4400-4800rpm .

42-4600 rpm for both the 501A and B engines.

According to the Volvo web site:

The engine data base says max rpm is 4600.

The down loadable AQ brochure(2/2/2007) says 4400-4800.

Since there's only a 200 rpm difference between the two, it looks like it doesn't really matter which you use.

Yes, the max rpm for that engine is indeed 4600 as stated on their site, the 4200 to 4600 came from the service manual and repeated in the owners manual.

I would assume those 3 items would probably override the reprinted sales brochure that says 44-48. But that is just a guess.
