I had problems with my engine the last few days. When the engine was in neutral, it would just stall. Also, when in gear and quickly put to neutral, it would again stall. <br />I talked to a mechanic and he told me to just change the idle. So, that is what I did. I got changed it so that it idles at 1000 RPM. Is this too much? It also does not stall, but I have to wait till it's in the water again to see for sure.

James, I'm no expert for sure. I have a '95 120 on my boat. Same problem when I first bought it this past spring. All I did was change the plugs and decarb. Corrected the stall immediately. It idles at around 700-800 rpm according to my onboard tach. Good luck.
