Proper torque for prop nut

I had to take my prop off in order to install a hydrofoil fin. This is a 1980 Mercruiser 470 outdrive. I thought the proper torque was 55lbs. Also, is it common for the prop to rest against the rest of the outdrive when the trim is in the up position

Ayuh,.. About 50ft.lbs. is about right...

No, the prop shouldn't be touching the housing,...
Could be the wrong thrust hub...
