Proper wired bilge pump?

All we know is you have one gray wire. Not much help unless you give us the whole story. What pump, what wire colors, what's connected to what. Are you using the correct fuse size and what else is on the circuit that fuse is in. Does the bilge pump have a float switch?

sorry i just got the boat and not sure on type of pump, I will get more info tomorrow.
