Re: props

Really need more info such as engine type, boat type, current speed, and current wide open throttle RPM if known. Give all the information and repost on the prop forum. The guys over there know their stuff but be forwarned: without full info, they will just refuse to answer until you give more.

Re: props

Didn't we go over this a couple of months ago? Engines use some sort of combustion, usually internal, for energy. Thus a steam engine, a diesel engine, a gasoline engine.

However an ELECTRIC MOTOR produces horsepower as does a compressed air MOTOR. Old Cub Cadet lawn mowers used both: A gasoline engine drove a hydraulic pump which powered a hydraulic motor at the rear axle.

The english language is quite dynamic. In common usage, most people use the two terms interchangeably and unless you are taking an engineering course, you will not be corrected. Typically, common usage becomes the accepted usage. In my day a BMW was called a "BIMMER". My kids call it a "BEEMER" and nothing is going to change them; indeed, sooner or later I will probably start to use their terminology.

Tell your kids, they should listen to daddy.

A "BIMMER" is a BMW car,
While a "BEEMER" is a BMW motorcycle.

to stay on topic, I am trying to figure out what prop to get and I need to know the LWL, beam and displacement of an '06 530i? :D

Yea, you may have...likely while I was recovering from emergency surgury.
From the standpoint of a member of this board, there is no such thing as "humor" anymore.
From a Moderators (mine anyway) view, the respect of other members is GONE.......
Sorry I tried to lighten the subject.....don't worry, it won't happen again.

Lighten away, some of us prefer it that way! Although my wife says I never take anything seriously.

FWIW - I preferred your old signature, the new one is too (insert synonym for passive and non-commital here) for my taste

AHH!!! life in the land of the offended and home of the conscientious objector:D
